The class of 2004 - where are they now?

I just thought I´d mention how well my old England Under-17 team-mate Theo Walcott has been doing. He got a lot of coverage in the press after his great performance for England in Croatia and one of the articles had a ´Where are they now?´ feature on our old Under-17 team from 2004. It was great to see it in the paper and I was just really glad to be recognised as having played with him.

As well as Theo it was great to see what all the other lads are up to these days. It seems strange because we were very close at the time but I really haven´t kept in contact with a lot of those guys. I´m still in touch with Michael Mancienne, who was my centre-back partner in that side and is now at Chelsea and Lee Cattermole, who was with me at Middlesbrough before going to West Brom but that´s about it.

A little bit after that I broke my arm and then did my knee as well so I didn´t see as much of them. A lot of the lads played for southern clubs so we didn´t play each other in the reserve league either. I didn´t even know which clubs some of them were at these days so I was really happy to see the story.
